suzani series
A suzani is a traditional embroidered textile from Central Asia. They typically include bold circular motifs such as stylized sun discs and flowers, set out in a regular, symmetrical pattern surrounded by vining plants. I decided to make work in homage to the suzani, that would feature circular motifs gathered on walks taken near and far from home.
